What was it like to live in rural Pennsylvania over 100 years ago in the log farm house/cabin built in 1897? Arriving at THE FARM HOUSE you see the old hand operated well pump and smell the fresh trees and flowers . As you approach the door you see the distinct axe marks scribed into the ageless hand hewn timbers, and the chinking skillfully placed between the logs. You enter through the kitchen door and immediately you are greeted with the old wood fired cookstove. Sitting at the kitchen table, cast iron cookware hang from nails driven into rough sawn beams, you can almost see and smell the cook preparing a big hearty farm family meal. Soon you find yourself almost living in another time and another age. At THE FARM HOUSE, you'll find it easy to visualize life over 100 years ago in Pennsylvania.

The FARM HOUSE is an off the grid solar powered home. This unique private 100 acre property with modern conveniences in a rustic setting overlooks a meadow and wooded area . The pond which is a few steps from the Farm House provides a special touch to the surroundings. Unfortunately, it is not available for recreational use. The double deck sleeping porch welcomes you to relax and enjoy the rocking chairs while reading a book or visiting with friends.

Pillows, mattress covers, quilts and blankets are provided however, GUESTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING THEIR OWN SHEETS, TOWELS, LINENS, ETC.
Winter snow and ice require an AWD/4-wheel drive vehicle

Master Bedroom Large Double Bedroom
Accommodations include a master bedroom with full size bed and a double bedroom with two full size beds. There is also a twin size bed in the living room which provides extra sleeping accommodations and seating. Weather permitting there is a second story sleeping porch with a comfortable double chaise sofa bed. There is one upstairs bathroom with shower.
Remember this is a step back in time....there is no air conditioning however, there is a gas fireplace that keeps it warm and toasty on those chilly nights and days. Since this is an off the grid solar powered farm house, only appliances included are permitted...SORRY - NO HAIR DRYERS, CURLING IRONS ETC.
The cookstove below is original to The Farm House and is in working order. Not available for use by guests!
Up to date modern kitchen with gas range/oven, refrigerator/freezer and microwave behind the gray cabinet to provide authentic charm upon entering! . When cabinet is opened all you need is at your fingertips. All cookware, dishware and utensils are provided.
Due to the historic nature of the Farm House we cannot accept pets.
We do have one friendly dog, Snickers, who lives with us in The Main House
